Together we can have a redemptive influence on the people, ideas and structures of the university
The Graduate Christian Fellowship (GCF) has a God-sized vision to reach every corner of campus - every department, every student group, every country represented by international students, etc - and engage the people, ideas and systems in each corner with the gospel. They recognize that they can’t do this alone and have asked for alumni to join them in mission on campus.
Imagine a northwestern where:
Every department had a: 1) Prayer Group, 2) Faith & Work Integration Group, and 3) Group for non-Christians to explore Christ with their Christian departmental peers
Every student group on campus (e.g. Black Graduate Student Association, Queer Pride Graduate Student Association, etc) was engaged in conversation about the gospel and whose members would either come to faith or leave Northwestern wishing the gospel were true
Every international student had an opportunity to hear about Christ and, Lord willing, go back to their country a born again gospel ambassador or a person of peace
Every faculty member had the opportunity to explore faith such that they either came to faith or came to believe that Christianity was, on balance, a positive force in the world, and said as much in the classroom and other venues
Every research project had some engagement with the gospel at a theoretical or practical level
Depression, overwork, isolation, and other grad school maladies were addressed by the gospel both personally and systemically
